Welcome to our website
The Think Store study support centre is a not for profit organisation designed for young people between the ages of 14 and 25. It is open to all secondary schools and the community of Newham. The centre is based on the same principles of the “Playing for Success” schemes which operate at various sporting centres throughout the UK. However unlike the previous scheme it is unique for the fact that it deals with an older age group and is situated to use business enterprise as opposed to sport to inspire and motivate young people through innovative and exciting courses.
Situated in the Stratford Centre adjacent to the site of the Olympic development and new Stratford City, this centre has been created through the efforts of many partners, all striving towards supporting young people in Newham to achieve and excel their potential to achieve academically. It is managed by Learning Community Services, housed and part funded generously by Land Securities, who own The Stratford Centre with immense backing in funds and support from the Jack Petchey Foundation.
The Think Store provides a unique experience to young people of Newham by giving them the opportunity to study real life businesses in the community and provide them with first hand knowledge and experience of the processes involved in starting and maintaining these enterprises.
“Life chances and outcomes are very much dependent on a good start in life. The provision of children and adult education services helps local people to develop their potential and talents. Educational attainment in Newham is markedly below the national average, however, over the past few years this gap has been narrowing. Improving educational achievement remains a key council priority.” (Focus on Newham 2005)

The Name
Think Store goes supersonic!! It has been found that the Logo for the Study Centre was designed by Dulal Rahman a Volunteer mentor from the ELG Interface. When asked what his inspiration was for the Centre, it emerged that he was in the Sky, on his way to Bangladesh. Dulal said "the clouds below inspired me to the idea of having the bubbles in the Logo". Well done Dulal Rahman!!
Newham Community
The Newham Youth Parliament got involved with the development of the Centre recently. A presentation of where, what and how the Centre will operate to benefit young people was given to them at the Council chambers. NYP members voted on the final shortlisted names that could become the name of the Centre in the not so distant future!
